Frei Martín Sarmiento, cradle of writer, driver of linguistic competence

On Thursday, November 29, we received the news of Laura García Méndez’s 1st prize (1st year of science baccalaureate) in the Halloween Micro Story Contest organized by the Oxford publishing house; In this same contest Nee Barros was finalist, recent winner of the II Contest of stories against gender violence. We have spent more than five years getting literary awards every year, as a result of the involvement of several departments (promoted by the Spanish language department) to improve linguistic competence, considering important to encourage students to practice the narrative by presenting themselves to literary contests. In the same line of improvement of linguistic competence, the great Bradomin Reading Club works and we introduce in the 2nd of ESO the subject of oratory, fundamental for public speaking. We congratulate the winning students, all the participants (who were many) and the teachers involved in the center (special thanks to Jorge Martín, head of the Spanish language department).
